When A4 college ruling is the practical middle choice
This format pairs an A4 sheet with 7.1 mm ruling. In the current template, 19 mm page margins leave 37 horizontal rules, or 36 writing bands. It is a useful middle setting when ordinary handwriting needs more vertical room than narrow ruling provides, but the page still has to hold a full set of class or meeting notes.
Choose A4 because it matches the paper, folders, and printers around you—not because the ruling requires it. The writing space is what college ruling changes. If a recipient expects US Letter, switch the sheet size in the editor instead of scaling the finished PDF, which would also change the apparent line spacing.
Compared with A4 narrow ruled
The matching narrow template uses 6.4 mm spacing and draws 41 rules inside the same margins. College ruling therefore gives each handwritten line 0.7 mm more height, while narrow ruling adds four writing bands. Pick the extra breathing room for medium-size handwriting; pick narrow when compact notes are the priority.

Use it for lecture notes, reading responses, worked examples, and handwritten drafts where ascenders, descenders, or occasional corrections need space. The red left margin also creates a consistent place for question numbers, short cues, or review marks without turning the sheet into a specialized note-taking layout.
Choose another format when
Use graph paper when alignment or measured plotting matters. Choose narrow ruling for small handwriting and dense revision sheets, or a wider rule when early writers and large lettering need more separation.
