These 25.4 mm squares leave room for large marks, counters and introductory graphs. They fit fewer cells on a sheet than a 5 mm grid; choose a smaller interval for detailed plots or long calculations.
How much space the layout gives you
The selected US Legal sheet measures 215.9 × 355.6 mm in this orientation. Switching orientation changes the space across and down, while the cell or dot interval stays the same. Match the orientation to the shape of your chart or page layout.
Paper and printer choice
US Legal needs a tray and paper that support 8.5 × 14 inches. A Letter-only tray cannot preserve the full page at actual size. Switch the preset to your loaded sheet before exporting rather than fitting the longer PDF onto shorter paper. This preset reaches the paper edge. A printer without borderless support may clip the outer marks. To keep the spacing, add margins in the editor or accept the clipped edge instead of shrinking the whole page.

- How can I check the printed spacing?
Print at 100% or Actual Size, then measure from one rule or dot to the one ten intervals away. That distance should be 254 mm for this 25.4 mm preset. Measuring ten intervals is easier than judging one small gap; exclude the thickness of the lines.
