At 8.47 mm between dots, this layout suits large lettering, rough layouts and diagrams with room around each mark. A 5 mm dot grid gives more alignment positions for small handwriting on the same sheet.
How much space the layout gives you
The selected A4 sheet measures 210 × 297 mm in this orientation. Switching orientation changes the space across and down, while the cell or dot interval stays the same. Match the orientation to the shape of your chart or page layout.
Paper and printer choice
Load A4 when using this preset. If your printer or binder uses US Letter, choose Letter in the editor before exporting; fitting an A4 PDF to Letter changes the spacing. Check where a hole punch will land before printing a stack. For blue or gray guides, print and photocopy one trial sheet first; faint lines may lose contrast in a copy.

Print at 100% or Actual Size, then measure from one rule or dot to the one ten intervals away. That distance should be 84.7 mm for this 8.47 mm preset. Measuring ten intervals is easier than judging one small gap; exclude the thickness of the lines.
