Coordinate Grid Paper: Printable for Math & Graphing
Free printable coordinate grid and coordinate plane. For plotting points, math worksheets. Download PDF graph paper.
Coordinate grid paper (or coordinate plane graph paper) is graph paper with axes and often numbered lines, used for plotting points and graphing functions. A blank Cartesian coordinate grid gives you x- and y-axes so you can draw ordered pairs and curves. Free printable coordinate grids are useful for math class, homework, and STEM projects.
What is coordinate grid paper?
Coordinate grid paper is graph paper with:
- Horizontal lines (x-axis)
- Vertical lines (y-axis)
- Numbered axes (optional)—for labeling coordinates
- Quadrants—typically four, with origin at center
Coordinate plane printable sheets range from simple grids to full Cartesian planes with tick marks. Use them for plotting points on a coordinate plane, graphing linear equations, and geometry.
When to use coordinate grid paper
- Algebra—plot functions, find intercepts
- Geometry—transformations, coordinates
- Data—scatter plots, simple charts
- Physics—motion graphs, vectors
- Engineering—sketches with scale

Our graph templates use a square grid. For a classic Cartesian coordinate plane, use the editor to add or emphasize axes, or print graph paper and draw axes by hand. Print at Actual Size / 100% so spacing is accurate.
Coordinate grid vs isometric grid
| Grid | Best for |
|---|---|
| Coordinate (Cartesian) | Plots, functions, x–y data |
| Isometric | 3D sketches, technical drawings |
For standard math (points, lines, parabolas), use coordinate grid paper. For 3D-style drawings, see isometric vs graph paper.
Printing tip
Always print at 100% / Actual Size. Scaling distorts the grid and makes coordinates inaccurate. Use Letter or A4 depending on your template.
